A Certification Program Designed for the Working Professional
Our distance training format offers the comfort and convenience of studying anywhere. Consider the freedom you gain from not having to commute, park and other campus-related hassles. More importantly, you get training equal to or superior in quality to one involving going to a specific location at a specific time that may or may not be convenient. You will have access to a professor by email or telephone at your convenience. Furthermore, because you set your own schedule, it’s easy to arrange your studies around your other responsibilities such as family and work.
Serving since 1980, we have been in the forefront of providing training and certification in nutrition, health and life enhancement on a global basis. Careers can be advanced without having to take time off to attend regular scheduled classes.
How Your Professional Credentials May Help You in Taking the CN® Certified Nutritionist Private License National Board Examination
Your previous post secondary course or degrees may be transferred to the six-course
CN™ Certified Nutritionist credentialing program for the Private License Board Examination. Your choices include:
1. Buying all six courses and sitting for all of the proctored examinations,
2. Buying an individual course or a number of courses involving areas that you feel you should review as well as textbooks. This Option includes mentoring from our professional staff,
3. Buying a study guide or study guides to review learning objectives and studying on your own
4. Challenging the National Board Examination with the present knowledge you have and with
the help of the available Board Exam Review Summary. Let us know your decision and we can advise you of the costs.
How Much Does It Cost?
Tuition for the CN™ Certified Nutritionist program, involving study guides and mentoring from our professional staff for six courses is $500.00 per course. The textbook(s) for each course average around $100. The total fee depends on your knowledge and confidence. (See above paragraph).
There is a 150 hour Internship, a most important part of the learning process that we help you arrange. The time must be agreed upon by both you and your sponsor. The fee for the Internship Program is $200. If you have completed an internship in a related field you may petition for a waiver.
The fee for the National Private License Board Examination is $250 and includes a summary of subjects covered. You can challenge that 6 hour Private License Examination for $1995. You will have eligibility to sit for that examination a second time if you do not pass it with a satisfactory grade.
A one-time registration fee of $100.00 is added to the first course. Shipping of course materials is an additional $10.00 in the United States. Textbooks are available separately from outside sources.
As in all professions, there is an annual continuing education requirement of 16 contact hours or 2 C.E.U.s (Continuing Education Units).
There is also an annual licensing fee of $150 and a CN™ Certified Nutritionist Code of Ethics that must be read, signed and of course followed.
Regular CN™ Certified Nutritionist Tele-seminars (no expense other than the cost of the telephone call to the teleconference number) are available to graduates and students. Teleconference subjects are generally determined by the interest of the graduates and include guests with different skills like: Clinical, Professional, Business Mastery, Marketing, Internet Presence, Social Networking, and Political Action.
The CN® Certified Nutritionist
Since 1983 the Certified Nutritionist CN™ has been the international standard by which other certifications in the nutrition, health and life enhancement fields are measured in terms of knowledge, competence and performance. Most nutritionists are not CN® Certified Nutritionists.
As a CN™ Certified Nutritionist, you will be a member of a distinguished profession dedicated to serving the nutritional, health and life enhancement needs of individuals and families. CN™ Certified Nutritionists work with other professionals and with clients to improve nutritional status and overall health by assessing and analyzing needs and by evaluating and developing plans designed to raise health levels through education, advice, counsel, monitoring and other methods of support.

The CN™ Certified Nutritionist credential program has a reputation for being the longest and leading distance training and certification program in nutrition sciences in the country. Also the integrative health care communities recognize and support it. BIO 410 (Rev) – Advanced Nutrition with Clinical Applications
Nutrition Counseling Four focuses on reinforcing and expanding understanding of the various nutrients and how the body uses them. In this course, students will begin to explore the benefits of integrative approaches such as nutrient recommendations above the RDA, botanical medicines, glandular therapy, therapeutic fasting, etc. This course deals with raising health levels where ever they are rising above a focus on disease and even disease prevention.

BIO 420 – Nutrition Therapy
This course introduces a number of nutritional protocols for health conditions common to Americans. The protocols include dietary modifications, lifestyle recommendations and specific recommendations for nutrient supplements as well as botanical medicines. Topics to be reviewed include nutritional support for affective disorders, asthma, atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, hypoglycemia, hypothyroidism, menopause, migraine, obesity, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and premenstrual syndrome. In this course, students will begin their counseling experience by working with a practice client and writing a practicum report.

BIO 430 – Nutrition Assessment and Counseling inthis final course, students learn how to assess the nutritional status of clients and to counsel them in making favorable dietary and lifestyle changes. Topics to be covered include standards of nutrient intake, measuring diet, computerized dietary analysis systems, anthropometry, nutritional assessment status, counseling theory and techniques on supplementary diagnostic procedures. Students will continue to develop their counseling skills by working with another practice client and writing a practicum report.
